N2 - The focus of the oral manifestations of dengue is not common in the scientific literature and the affected patient may present signs and symptoms that may go unnoticed by dental professionals. This review article was carried out to identify and discuss the oral manifestations related to dengue. Full original articles, clinical trials and clinical case reports published in Spanish and English were included. This review emphasizes the importance of oral lesions, as they may be the first indicators of dengue hemorrhagic fever. No limits were applied to the year of publication. Several manifestations in the oral cavity of patients diagnosed with dengue fever (DF) were identified, such as acute bleeding of the gums and palate, dry mouth, changes in taste, and erythematous plaque and vesicles on the tongue and palate. These types of lesions are rare in dengue infections and, if they occur, can be confused with bleeding disorders. In conclusion, oral manifestations may represent a relevant contributing factor in identifying DF disease among patients undergoing dental procedures in general practice.
