Resumen

The objective of this research was to analyze human capacities in higher education from the perspective of neuroeducation, taking Martha Nussbaum’s proposal as a theoretical reference, with the purpose of proposing strategies that favor integral student development. Theoretically, it focuses on the ten human capacities proposed by Nussbaum, which include aspects such as integral health, practical reason, among others, which, applied to neuroeducation, lead to a deep understanding of how the brain learns and processes emotions. Methodologically, a descriptive and comparative design was used, applicable to 431 students from a private university in Huancayo, Peru. The findings showed that students have a medium and high level of human capacities, but this does not mean that there are no gaps in aspects such as integral health and emotional management. Finally, it was concluded that universities should employ holistic, broad and interdisciplinary approaches, where neuroeducation is integrated to encourage the development of human capabilities, promoting the socioemotional well-being of students.
